Behind-the-Scenes with Us
I’ve shared many ‘fun facts’ over the years on Instagram, but never one about both myself and Brian :) Here it goes…
We’ve been cattle ranching for 10 years after being accidental entrepreneurs and restauranteurs, after law school and almost medical school and planning for a very different life.
2. We both have deep roots in California agriculture through farming all over the state and are proud to be raising 7th generation Californians.
3. We met at ages 27 and 33 and knew almost instantly we’d get married. Six months later we were engaged, seven months later married, and 14 months after that we had our first baby girl.
4. We didn’t mean to name ALL of our children Mary, but we kept having girls (and luckily had lots of ‘Marys’ in the family to name them after). MaryFrances was 4, MaryMarjorie was 3, and MaryJane was 1 when our last baby MaryTeresa was born. She was kind of a scary birth and our last baby.
5. Early in our relationship, Brian was the cook in the family. His family likes to tease me now that it’s ironic I have cookbooks :) Now we spend 95% of our time together - cooking or driving tractors, working side by side or watching/driving our girls to rodeos. We wouldn’t have it any other way!
